denver to LA

I am plannning to drive from Denver to Los Angeles mid to late Dec. Am I crazy? Any advice? I plan to go through Santa Fe - looks like maybe less snow & mountains. I am from LA so not extremely snow savvy.

Welcome to the Forum. The heavy snows don't really hit (in most normal years) until January and given all of the options, I would still counsel I-70 -- it is a gorgeous route and the snow-removal equipment on I-70 is superior to anything found on the so-called southern routes.

One of these days, I will get an article published about the view points one can stop at on I-70 in Utah. I have driven I-70 in both directions twice in the last few weeks working on this article and I think you will enjoy it. I hope to have it written and up there by the 1st of December.
