Portland, Ore to Las Vegas in winter

I am wondering what is the best route to drive between Portland, Oregon to Las Vegas in late January? Am I going to encounter snow?

Take I-5 south to California, and then I-15 to Las Vegas. You could encounter wintry conditions on this route, yes (in southern Oregon or northern California, usually). It will be cleared for traffic fairly quickly after any storm, but you could have occasional delays. Bob
