Default Tulsa, Oklahoma and Points North

We are traveling from Tulsa, Ok going north to see the Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan. We enjoy foliage and lakes, falls and all other interesting earth features. So if anyone has things to see or side trips we would love to hear about them

    Default fall color

If you like waterfalls, the UP of Michigan is a great place to go. Do a google search for UP waterfalls or Michigan waterfalls and you'll find dozens of great little places.

Some other suggestions would include the headwaters of the Mississippi River at Lake Itaska State Park in Minnesota, the lighthouses North of Duluth along the north shore of Lake Superior, The Apostle Islands in northern Wisconsin, and Door County, WI - the pennisula that separates Green Bay from the rest of Lake Michigan.

I hope you're going soon though. Many areas up north are already at or moving past peak color.

    Default Wisconsin Earth Features

One often overlooked 'earth feature' of the upper midwest are the remnants of the last ice age. The many terminal moraines make for great hiking and leaf peeping as well as offering chances to learn a little. Another way to get off the beaten path in Wisconsin is to check out some of the Wisconsin Rustic Roads which are less ways to get somewhere than destinations themselves.
