New York, Manhattan, Hotels, Motels, Hostels

Hi All

I need some urgent advice please.

I need a hotel/hostel/motel room in manhattan for the 7th and 8th October.

I am looking for a very clean, safe and cheap place to stay (<50$ per person) (if possible with attached bathroom, but I'm flexible)

Any ideas?

My son stayed in The Americana Inn recently. You shared the bath with a couple of rooms but it was clean and he felt safe there. He and a friend shared the room. It had 2 twin beds. The rate was $95/nite. It was fairly close to Times Square, Broadway, Empire State Building, etc.

I stayed there in 2003 and it was very clean. Nothing special but affordable. Very close to Empire State building and Times Square.
I would stay there again :)
