  1. Default Manzanita Restaurant, Cornville, AZ

    In past posts, Editor has mentioned the fine cuisine obtainable at the Manzanita Restaurant in Cornville, AZ , but (he) wasn't certain the place was still open. I'm happy to report that Chef Albert Kramer (formerly of Switzerland) is still working his magic in the kitchen

    -- I stopped there for dinner this evening on my way home to Phoenix from Flagstaff after a long day's work.

    I had stuffed Portobello Mushroom (w/Gruyere, crab and other delightful ingredients), schnitzel with spaetzle and red cabbage, preceded by a wonderful potato-leek soup with just a hint of nutmeg -- so faint it was difficult to discern what it was! I had to ask...

    It was definitely a meal worth driving the 100+ miles for; others thought so as well -- the dining room was packed. The restaurant is only open Wednesday through Sunday from 4pm until 8pm. Cornville is a short distance outside Sedona, if you are in that area. Bob

    Good to know that Albert et al are still holding sway in the Cornville area.
