Vegas to San Fran Jan/Feb 2006

Hi,

I am currently planning a trip with a couple of friends for January or February 2006.

We want to fly into Las Vegas and then drive from there to San Francisco taking in some of the National Parks on the way. Ideally, we would like to do this with only one night's stopover but we could probably stretch to two if we had to.

Is this possible at that time of year?

If so, what route would suit us best?

Niall, Welcome to the Forum. Which national parks were you thinking of visiting? January/February is the peak of winter storms and most of the passes between Las Vegas and San Francisco will be closed. Therefore you can visit Death Valley (about three hours from Las Vegas) but it an all day journey from Las Vegas to reach Sequoia, Kings Canyon, or Yosemite National Parks. In fact, that time of year, the fastest possible route to San Francisco will be 10 hours of driving starting in Las Vegas.
