Default Any Ideas for a New Year Trip?

I am trying to plan a new year trip, bearing in mind the weather at that time.
So far have thought about Dallas through to Miami.
has anyone done this route, and if so, would you recommend it?
i am travelling from London for a 2-3 week trip starting 1 or 2 January?
    Any ideas??

    Default Fall & Winter

Not a reply but an additional question.
I am planning a road trip also starting January 06 but for 2-3 weeks.
I will be coming from London, England.
Any ideas taking account of the weather - don't want bad weather.
Would Dallas to Miami be a good choice?
    Any ideas?

If you don't mind a little snow, rain and wind -- Dallas is a perfectly good destination for New Year's road trip. It doesn't often snow in Dallas in January, but it does happen and in fact, ice storms in Dallas are legendary. If you are seeking warmth you need to get a lot farther south. Generally you will be out of the ice belt in January if you get below I-10 (so Corpus Christi, Houston, New Orleans, Mobile and most of Florida) is a good bet. But there is always a chance of rain and other inclement weather anywhere in North America in January. So, what would you consider "bad weather"?
