I'm going to Las Vegas for a conference next week and it's become a road trip for me, and I'm looking for a few suggestions. I had originally planned on taking I-40 to Kingman, AZ, and then taking US-93 in to Vegas on the way out there, but now I have an extra day to get out there and so time isn't as much of an issue (I'll have roughly two and a half or three days to drive out there.) So I'm trying to decide on a good route to take. I think some mix of interstates and US and state highways would be nice -- it seems like I take I-40 on just about every trip I take. There's nothing in particular I'd like to see in between Memphis and Las Vegas, just looking for a good route to take. I usually like to drive 10-12 hours a day; I occasionally like to stop and look around, but only so often.
Any suggestions would be welcome. On the way back I'm dropping by Boulder to visit CU Law School.
