Default Looking for lakes : VT, NY and NH

    Hi everyone,

I have a long weekend ahead and if it's not raining, I'd love to spend most of the weekend swimming. I was wondering if you had ideas of quiet places where I could find nice lakes in northern VT, NH or northeastern NY, not too far from the border? I've been to Lake Willoughby, Missisquoi River, Lake Memphre, White Mountains Region and Lake Champlain so far.

    Thanks,

    Gen

Lake George, NY is a beautiful spot and the town is pretty hopping until the bars close at 4 am. Oh wait, you said quiet... Cranberry Lake is pretty nice (southwest of Postdam, NY).

    Default Lake George

Yeah Lake George, I forgot about that one! When I was young (not so long ago), my parents and I used to go to VA, NC for our vacation. We were leaving home very early in the morning, while it was still dark and we used to take I-87... Now I know why we were leaving so early, my parents wanted to go through the Lake George area before sunrise because they knew that if I saw the Park there with all the rides and stuff I would beg them to stop and we'd be stuck there for hours if we did.

One year on our way back, they didn't think about all of that, I guess they were tired, and of course, my friend and I, sitting in the back of the truck, noticed the Park. So we stopped and spent the whole afternoon there, it was so much fun...for the kids anyway:o)) It was a memorable day because my Mom finally agreed to come with us on some rides... If you were there on that sunny afternoon of 1990, I'm sure you heard her screaming a few times, she was the loudest, it was horrible!:o)) Poor Mom! lol

I'll sure give a try to that Cranberry Lake:o)
