Default 25th Wedding Aniversary Western US trip

    Hi All,

Its our 25th Wedding aniversary in 2 years time, so we're at the planning stage for a west US trip. We're from the UK, but have travelled quite extensively in the eastern US. Here are a few items on our "must see list"
Death valley, San Fran, 17 mile drive, grand canyon, Sequoia Nat park, Vegas
Any other suggestions appreciated. Our trip will be for about three weeks
in the late summer. We would like to visit California, Nevada, Utah and, Arizona. Is this possible in three weeks ? Were would be a good place to fly into at the start of the trip? What is the best plan, car and use motels, or rent a R.V ? We also have a passion for theme parks and roller coasters.

    Thanks

    Rob

Well, you should have sufficient time to really enjoy the planning of this anniversary trip! I would suggest a non-stop from London to Las Vegas and use LV as your hub to see the western states. Yes, it can be done in three weeks -- (or three years) but since this is a roadtrip -- you get to decide how much you want to see. I would suggest first going north and seeing as much of Utah as you have time for and then west to San Francisco and then zig-zag back to Yosemite and Sequoia and San Diego and then into Arizona and then return to LV and Death Valley.

Be sure to look at the "similar threads" down below for other ideas.

    Rob,

Take 3 weeks to do this 2 week itinerary
    http://www.uk-2-usa.com/routes.html#complete
and it will be the trip of a lifetime.

With a circular route like this, you dont have to worry about car hire drop off charges and you can start from Vegas, San Francisco or Los Angeles whichever is the cheapest airfare.

    Default One Caveat

We like just about all of UK's recommendations -- with one huge CAVEAT -- the Circus Circus hotel is without doubt the only place here in Las Vegas I only go to under severe duress -- there are so many cool and wonderful places to stay and recharge -- the Circus Circus would not make even my top 100 places to stay in Las Vegas.
