need suggestions on good place to drop by for sightseeing
I'm trying to find a good place for sightseeing or something that's out of the ordinary. I will be heading from Texas to New York and was wondering what would be the best route to take.
I went through Texas recently using route 380 from west to east, I think it was a really interesting route : no traffic, small towns, cotton plantations, it's flat but fun! Unfortunately, I had to use the interstates for the rest of the trip back to Canada :o((, but use byways and back roads instead of interstates, if you're not in a hurry, you'll see so much more!
Memphis and Nashville (Country Music Hall of Fame) are fun cities to visit as well as St. Louis (visit the Gateway Arch) if you head north. I also think Chicago is a must see, but it may be very cold at this time of the year with the winds coming from the Great Lakes, brrrr....:o) You also have the Blue Ridge Mountains, Starved Rock State Park, IL, Washington DC, Bombing Memorial in OKC, San Antonio, Houston, Galveston and New Orleans (southern route)... Possibilities are endless!
Have a nice trip!
