    Default chiago to northern idaho

My family is planning our first big road trip with kids ages 6 and 9. We are going to travel with a trailer from Chicago to Northern Idaho and back. We have about a month for this trip. What are some great routes, places to camp, sites to see? I've never planned this kind of trip. Please help!

Here is what I'd recommend. Take I-94 through Minneapolis, North Dakota, to Glendive, Montana. Check out the Snoopy statues and maybe the Children's museum in St. Paul, before heading to North Dakota where you'll want to check out Teddy Rosevelt N.P. Some Good Camping Options include Ft. Abe Lincoln near Bismark and a State Park just outside of Glendive that has excellent Northern Badlands scenery.

From there, get off the Interstate and head across the state to Glacier, N.P. Check out the park before continuing on to Northern Idaho.

On your way back, swing to the south and visit Yellowstone for a couple of days. Drive across Wyoming and pick-up I-90. Check out Devils Tower in Eastern Wyoming before continuing on to the Black Hills, Mt. Rushmore, and Badlands N.P. and then take I-90 all the way back home.
