Looking for sights to see on roadtrip Los Angeles to Wisconsin

I'd like to get peoples opinion on best attractions/sights to see on a road trip from Los Angeles to Wisconnsin....

1st Option:

Grand Canyon Nat'l Pk, AZ

ZION Nat'l Pk & Bryce Canyon Nat'l Pk, Utah

then up through Salt Lake City & continue north to Jackson, WY

Grand Teton & YELLOWSTONE Nat'l Pk

Out northeast exit of Yellowstone to hwy 212 (Beartooth Hwy). Then come down towards Cody.

Across into South Dakota through interesting little "western" towns of Deadwood & Lead, to

Mt. Rushmore
Crazy Horse Memorial
Custer State Park

across to Wall, SD & through BADLANDS Nat'l Park.

Then continue east across I-90.


2nd option:

GRAND CANYON, I-40 into New Mexico, any sideroad north (such as #371) to #550

#550 through Durango, Silverton, Ouray. This is the "million dollar highway" - amazing mountain passes / views. Take a jeep ride with "Switzerland of America - SOA" while in Ouray, Colorado.

Across to #25 & up to Denver & east on I-70. Across to Kansas City, then north on I-35.

Depends how many days you have & what your interests are. My choice would be option #1 - more to do than going across the plains of Kansas, etc.
