    Default moving to LA

My family, including two kids (1 and 4 years old) and two dogs, will be relocating to LA from Chicago at the end of august. Because of the dogs, we're driving. Can anyone recommend a route and things to see along the way that are both kid and dog friendly.

Our general plan is to drive in the morning, do something in the afternoon to poop out the kids/dogs, then drive in the early evening.

We have 7 days to make the trip, but we would prefer to do it as fast as we reasonably can.

...and look for info on this site about I-40 and Route 66!

There's lots of info and lots to do along this route. You can easily do the drive in 4 days, so no sweat.

I suggest the old west town of Oatman (W of Kingman, AZ), Grand Canyon, Oak Creek Canyon/Sedona, Petrified Forest, Santa Fe and the Lincoln sites around Springfield, IL. Happy planning! Bob

    Default sightseeing

Another possible way to go would be to take 80 to 76 and see Denver, Canyonlands National Park and Arches N.P. 76 ends at 15, and then see Bryce & Zion National Parks, go down through Las Vegas, and take that to L.A.

Whatever way you go, enjoy your trip, and make sure your car is ready for the summer drivng.
