Default When to visit Arches National Park

I am planning a photography trip to Utah and I would like to know what month is the best time to visit Arches National Park? No crowds.

Are the crowds very bad in july/august?

    Any info would be great!!

  2. Default April and October

I don't know about the crowds at Arches in summer -- but for photography, I would choose April or October. Atmospheric conditions are often clear, colors and contrasts deeper and the weather will be warm days, crisp cool nights. Those are the two most perfect months in the southwest -- my opinion!

Default Too Dry to Be Uncomfortable

It really doesn't get warmer than the high 90's in the park this time of year, and the humidity is generally between
10 to 20 percent. I remember being there in late June with temps rising into the mid-90's and not being terribly uncomfortable. Take necessary precautions (lots of water and the like) and enjoy yourselves no matter what time of year you visit the park.

In terms of crowding, you shouldn't anticipate too many problems. The park is huge and the vista points endless.
Check out Canyonlands National Park while you're in the area too!

    Good luck and safe driving.

    Default Utah trip

My husband and I have been to Arches National Park twice in the past few years - both times in May. On neither occasion were there crowds of people and we had a local tell us that May is usually the busiest time of year there. I would think that it might get rather hot in July and August. It is my favorite of the Utah National Parks closely followed by Bryce Canyon. If you can, take a drive there - it's only a day's drive from Arches. You will get some stunning pictures! Have a wonderful time.
