Taking the trip March 2nd and getting a bit worried about the ice and snow. Any advice on which roads would be better? I was planning on I90 to I84 then US93 onto Highway 50. Any advice would be helpful.

I don't know about the weather, but Hwy-93 and Hwy-50 are both notoriously empty. Pay close attention to your map, and if you see a town, stop and get gas. :o)
There's a sign on highway 93 that reads:
"Pray for me 'cause I drive 93." As Kevin said, it is a very empty highway. Highway 50 has a sign that says, "the lonliest highway in America."
So, be aware of these and make sure your car is in good running condition, and you fill the gas tank up everytime you see a town.
Have a great trip.

the reson for this is the death toll is so high on hwy 93. not for the fact that there is no lager town evry 20-40 miles.
