Highway 50 in Nevada early March.
Has anyone driven this road from Ely to Reno in early March? Is it in the mountains? should I expect snow and ice during the day or night? Any help appreciated.

The road is up and down across the length of the state -- you will climb to 6000-7000 foot mountain passes, then descend down the other side and across the high-desert valley floors to the next one (Nevada has a series of generally north-to-south running mountain ranges). In March, you can encounter snow and ice on the passes, but the ODDS are you'll have clear road unless there's been a recent storm, say within a day or two. Your chances are good of having dry road surface on this route. I'd go for it.
