Default What exactly did you like about it?

In our view there is nothing like Pigeon Forge in terms of the combination of unique shopping and tourist attractions -- but what, in particular, did you like?

I see from another post that you are headed for Branson -- certainly of a similar ilk. Then there is <a href ="http://www.roadtripamerica.com/places/southof.htm">"South of the Border"<a/> in Dillon, South Carolina.

    Default Rather than one place

Rather than one place, have you thought about looking at festival listings? The types of places we list on the <a href = "http://www.roadtripamerica.com/links/destinations.htm">"Destinations"</a> page might well match some of those goals. But in particular, the Festivals.com sits provides a number of ideas all over the USA.

In our experience, just about everyplace in America is as friendly as Pigeon Forge -- maybe you had an extra special time there? What did you enjoy the most there?

Default How about Wall Drug and the Black Hills?

Wall, South Dakota is no more than a two day drive from Branson. In addition to Badlands National Park and the incredible Black Hills, you will enjoy a major tourist shopping area called Wall Drug. It's best described as a shopping center with an old-time, general store atmosphere.

It's an amazing area, and very accessible given your central location. The Omaha, Nebraska area would be a good place to stop for the night along the way.

    Good luck and safe driving.

    Default Wisconsin Dells

I haven't been there myself, but apparantly Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, is exactly the same sort of tourist town as Pigeon Forge. I think the official website is http://www.wisdells.com but you can find a lot more info with a Google search.

    Default Gatlinberg

There are many places similar to Gatlinberg if that's your cup of tea.
    1. Orlando, Fla
    2. Myrtle Beach, SC.
    3. Branson, MO.
    4. North Conway, NH.
    5. Beale Street area in Memphis, Tenn.
    6. South of the Border on the NC-SC border.
    7. Niagra Falls Canada.
    8. Wisconsin Dells
    9. Lake Placid, NY.
    10. Daytona Beach, Fla.
I'm sure there are many more spread out around the country. Niagra Falls Canada to me is the most similar.
