Honeymoon Roadtrip

My fiancee and I are planning on taking our honeymoon and driving from our wedding in LA to his parents house in Portland, OR. We know a few places we may want to stop but I'm looking for any suggestions of nice and romantic places to stop in northern California. Thanks for the help! By the way we are going to be driving the week before Thanksgiving, if you were wondering.

A part of my/our honeymoon was spent at the Stanford Inn in Mendocino -- If you can afford it, well worth the extravagance.<a href = "http://www.roadtripamerica.com/animals/llamas.htm">Llamas,</a> <a href = "http://www.roadtripamerica.com/eats/ravens.htm">amazing food</a>, great wine, ocean views and the <a href = "http://www.roadtripamerica.com/places/stanford.htm"> best hosts on the north coast.</a>

If you haven't taken the Pacific Coast Highway (from Santa Barbara to Monterey), you really should do this at least once in your life. We stayed in Solvang after a stop at Cold Spring Tavern and Lake Cachuma. We liked stopping at The Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo for breakfast or lunch. Morrow Bay is a nice, quick photo stop. In Harmony (population of 16 or something like that) for some wine tasting. Hearst Castle is always beautiful and fun to tour. Then, (this is when the drive is most scenic) from Cambria to Monterey. Big Sur is great! There's some beautiful restaurants on the cliffs. I also love San Francisco (Fisherman's Wharf) and Napa (more wine tasting) depending on how far off the beaten path you want to go. Further north is Lake Shasta, but that's about it for my knowledge of northern California.
