Suggestions wanted for Road Trip

Hi there,

My best friend and I are Australian, and are about to embark on a 3 month road trip from LA to NY, travelling in a big 'U' shape. We depart on Sep 6 this year.

We have our itenerary figured out from LA to the Grand Canyon, but after that, our plans are very vague. Just wondering if anyone can suggest a good route to travel from the Grand Canyon to NY, via Florida?

The places we want to visit along the way include Phoenix, Austin, New Orleans, Nashville, Jackson, Miami, and then up to NY somehow.

Has anyone done a similar trip? Any suggestions of 'must -see' places, or good roads to travel would be much appreciated.

Sounds like a wonderful adventure. There are scores of well-documented trips that have followed this basic route. I would urge you to look at some of the sites listed on our Journals page, for ideas of places to stop and explore. (http://www.roadtripamerica.com/links/travelogs.htm) In particular, look at Quest-4, "Destination Unknown" and "Rick's"

Don't forget to spend some time in the Everglades and down in the Keys.
