    Default Car insurance for road trip

    My husband and I are planning to drive from SF to Chicago in our car.
    Does anyone know if I need to buy additional car insurance from my insurer for this road trip or should I be covered under my existing policy that currently includes comprehensive coverage?

    Default You should be fine

    Auto insurance purchased in one state is normally good in all 50 states. However, a simple call to your insurance agent would seem to be prudent if you have any concerns about this.

    Default you should be ok

    If you carry insurance with one of the larger companies who have agents in other states. If you contact your agent they will be able to let you know who to contact if you have a problem. Most insurance companies have a nationwide 800 number if you need to report an accident
