Are there ways to make money along the way?

My husband and I are wanting to stretch our road trip through next year's Spring, Summer, and perhaps Fall. We're driving from Alaska to Maine via everywhere in between. We'd like to make some money along the way. Everything I've found on the net is for at least a season's amount of time. We're looking for 1-3 weeks at a time. We're both fairly skilled in a lot of different areas and have a dog. ...would love some input!
