    We (2) are travelling by Amtrak in Oct / November and are looking for advise on where to stop between Denver Colorado and San Francisco. Ideally we would like to make 2 stops of one night each, in medium or large sized towns with great personailty and atmosphere...any suggestions?

    Default California Zephyr

    On the California Zephyr line, I would suggest stops at Grand Junction, CO and Reno, Nevada. Both cities will provide easy access to a host of fun places to explore. Both places may require a rental car unless you book pre-arranged tours.
