    Default Chicago to Las Vegas

Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated - planning on taking a roadtrip at the end of June, beginning of July from Chicago to Las Vegas. I definitely want to see Utah, but what else? Help!

    Default Utah Suxxors

there is nothing to see in Utah. Just dirt, rocks and more dirt.

On ignorant folk, such as Mr. or Ms. "Nothing But Dirt and Rocks"

You have obviously heard of the wonderous sites in Utah, as you mentioned it specifically. I would take I-90 West initially and take advantage of the sites in western South Dakota and eastern Wyoming. Badlands National Park is a "Don't Miss" and the Black Hills, an area sacred to Native Americans, should be extensively explored. (There is much more to the Black Hills than Mount Rushmore!)

You'll find Devil's Tower National Monument in eastern Wyoming, which I found to be quite interesting, though there were some in my entourage that weren't really impressed.

Then I'd take my time winding my way southwest through Colorado and on through to Utah and Nevada. In Colorado, Mesa Verde and Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Parks are both interesting and very scenic, but the most stunning scenery will be found on random state roads and mountain passes deep within the Rockies.

    Good luck and safe driving.

    Default Where to start?

Utah is home to some of the most amazing vistas on earth.
