Default New Years roadtrip, need some suggestions

My girlfriend and I had hopes of taking a couple weeks after Christmas to make a nice roadtrip through the south, maybe to New Orleans. I was just laid-off unexpectedly and she can't afford to single-handedly pay for the trip.

So now we are looking for something a little bit closer to home. Something within 15- to 20-hour drive of Boston that we can spend a couple days at would be good. We were thinking Nova Scotia, but the high-speed cat ferry doesn't run in the winter months.

    Thanks!

    Default Christmas Roadtrip from Boston

One of my favorite places in the world at Christmas time is Quebec City. Montreal is a close second. Quebec especially has an old-world flavor of Christmas that I love. Wherever you go, have a wonderful trip.

I AGREE GO TO QUEBEC CITY AND STAY IN THE OLD SECTION. ON YOUR WAY GO THRU "JACKMAN" MAINE THEY HAVE A WEBSITE. THIS IS EASTERN WILDERNESS AT ITS BEST. THERE IS A NEW MOTEL IN JACKMAN IF BOARDING TYPE HOUSES DO NOT APPEAL TO YOU. GOOD LUCK GEO.
