Default San Jose to Philadelphia over Christmas....weather a problem?

    Hello,

This past summer I drove from Philadelphia to San Jose with a friend. We took I-80 the whole way. It wasn't very scenic, but since we were only concerned with getting there, it fit us perfectly.

Now it's time for me to drive home. This time, however, I'll be doing it myself. I figure I can't take I-80 back because of the weather, so I guess I'm looking for a quick route back that dips south? Any ideas? Would I-80 be fine? What's a better route?

I'll be driving my 93 honda civic, which is great for gas mileage, but I doubt it's gonna like snow too much.

    Thank you very much,

    Brian Hansell

    Default 80 should be OK

I-80 should be fine, this time of year. But I would suggest looking at the weather when you reach Salt Lake City. If it looks "iffy" through Wyoming, drop down to I-70 and go through the Colorado Rockies. Although you will cross over some tall passes -- the Colorado Hwy Dept is excellent at snow removal.

'93 Honda Civic should be great in the snow. Have fun
