    We will be traveling from Sioux Falls, SD to Portland, OR with 5 kids and we are looking for any suggestions for sights to see along the way and also good, cheap places to stay. Thanks for your help.

    Default Pendleton Woolen Mills

    I don't know the ages of your children, but if you have sufficient resolve (it can be un-nerving to say the least) a factory tour that they will always remember is the tour of the woolen mills in Pendelton. There is a really great book that describes some of the more remarkable factory tours one can visit -- check out "Watch it Made" at http://www.roadtripamerica.com/read/guides.htm
