Remodeling old camper van

I have a van camper with very low miles, but not the best sleeping arrangement. We cannot climb up on the slide out bunk anymore (too old), and the couch bed does not allow room for getting up in the night, and is hard to make down
because the passenger seat has to be adjusted to allow the couch to make a bed. The rear has a full bathroom, which we don't want to do without. Can the couch be remade into a dinette/bed for two? The problem I see is that the furnace is under the couch, right in the middle. Would very much appreciate suggestions.
