Looking for Destination
My girlfriend and I, both in our mid 20s, want to go on a road trip for one week around mid March.
We will be leaving from Chicago and we're looking for possible destinations. We don't want to
spend the whole week just driving, we want to have enough time to enjoy the places we visit.
We've both traveled extensively outside the US but not much within the States.
Any advice? Any recommended places? We'd love to see nature, national parks, romantic places,
historic towns, etc. Thanks!

Fire or ice?
A week to go from Chicago? In a day and a half you could be high in the Rockies enjoying the winter wonderland. But better make reservations. Many others also know how much fun you can have. There are the usual tourist traps like Vail. But there are also places like Steamboat Springs that maybe won't be as crowded.
Of course in the same time you could be in Mickey Land in Fla. But there are surprises to find besides Disney. There is the Gatorland Zoo outside Kissimmee, plus Reilly Aviation at the Kissimmee Airport that restores WW2 aircraft while you watch.
In 2 days you could be in Tuscon and maybe visit the Pima Air Museum. Or the Minutman Missile site that you can now tour. And if you go by way of I-44 thru Ok, then you can visit the World's Largest McDonalds and then the World's Largest Buffalo.
Or in a day you could visit Ground Zero in NY, NY.
Or...I guess your choices are endless. And maybe none of my suggestions interests you. But find YOUR destination and GO!!
Have a GREAT trip.....Please.
