These were taken two springs ago, at Picacho Peak State Park, north of Tucson. When there's enough rainfall, at the right time, the mountain comes alive with a blanket of golden poppies (and more). The winter of 2023 was relatively wet, so there was quite the bumper crop that year!

Pretty awesome color!

Desert Gold, Prickly Pear and other Desert Treats
(sorry the bloom wasn't in focus -- it was windy and hard to gauge when the breeze would enable me to shoot --not able to set the shutter speed high enough to offset--since this was cell phone camera)
One of the last road trips (day trips) Megan and I were able to take with my mom, Margaret Sedenquist in April 2019 to see the wildflowers in Antelope Valley.

Back in 2019 I traveled the length of the Natchez Trace Parkway. I thought I had posted a report about it but I guess I haven't done that yet.
One of the highlights of the trip was catching the sunset over the Natchez-Vidalia Bridge.
