Default Would like to see the 'Hump'

It's a shame the High Sierra webcam is still out of action. I would really like to see how the 'Hump' is getting along !

    Default No longer a trickle...

Two days ago, the Yosemite Falls was just a trickle --but it is roaring now.

Default The storm continues. Yosemite remains closed.

As snow continues to fall the whole park remains closed until they can reevaluate conditions during next week and attempt to clear roads, car parks, facilities and building roofs etc of snow to make it safe for the return of visitors.

    Default Snowing some more

    Yep, snowing again!

    Crazy.

“Running Springs received 12 feet of snow, Big Bear Lake received 11 feet and Lake Arrowhead saw a little over 9 feet, according to the latest readings.” –LA Times

--These are communities in the San Bernardino mountains in southern California!

Multiple incidents of gas fires from the gas meters’ air vents getting blocked by snow.

Default ...and it keeps coming !

Thats a nice capture of Yosemite falls but those blue sky's are not going to last as snow sweeps through once again right up to the weekend. Yosemite is to remain closed at least until Sunday, but I suspect longer !

February brought with it, 99 inches of new snow, 38 inches more than the Historic average. The snow pack is thought to be 200% of average for this time of year. On March 7th the Snowdepth in Tuolumne meadows has been measured at 136 inches !

Default "the Pineapple Express" is arriving today

The first wave of what is being called "the Pineapple Express" is just now hitting the San Francisco coast area.

This storm is warmer than the past storms and no one really has a handle on what this might mean in the mountains. We hope that it falls as gentle snow. But looking at the forecast for Mariposa--it could be rain every day. The expected rain totals for Mariposa are:
    March 9: 2.44 inches
    March 10: 2.92 inches
    March 11: 1.31 inches
    March 12: 0.34 inches
    March 13: 1.55 inches
    March 14: 1.11 inches
    Mach 18: 0.12 inches

    Yikes, that could be crazy!

Raining right now in Yosemite Valley -- the waterfalls are going to be epic.

No visual right now -- but this stream gauge will be interesting to watch!
