Default It's official ! New Champ in the house.

Yosemite have now updated the Tioga Pass Opening and closing date page and confirmed the pass closed on November 20th for this season.
That means we have a new Tioga Pass Prognosticator Champion and it's RTA's very own Mark Sedenquist !

Congratulations Mark it's been a long time coming ! ... and don't forget to post your POF (Proof of gas) photo. Haha !

    Dave.

    Default "insider info" (????)

That's pretty amazing. Thanks one and all.

Now, let's see to post a POG, that would mean I would have to issue myself a check, eh?

I will find a way to get a memorable photo, that's for sure.

    Thanks again,

    Mark

The "HUMP" is back. Any guesses on how tall this will be tomorrow?

Default That is a lot !

Wow ! That humps grown already ! I had a look a few days ago and the hump was barely visible in the right hand corner. The weather forecast suggests the hump will make those trees immediately behind it disappear !

Default Been watching the radar -- lots of snow

Yeah, it would be a good time to be hibernating, if one were up there!

Default No tracks in the snow

The hump hasn't grown as much as I expected it would overnight. But it certainly looks chilly and frosty!

...Actually, it doesn't look like the hump grew in height at all. Must have been a snow shadow on this ridge...

    Default More on the way.

Another 12 inches of fresh snow is possible through Sunday up on the high ground and then it's set to clear again. There is 4 feet of snow depth reported in Tuolumne Meadows at present.
