    Default Not long now !

Another great adventure to look forward to, and I for one am looking forward to the trip report and some photos !

I also made the mistake of finding too many attractions in one area and penciling them into the trip.
I always do that but also understand you will never get to see them all ! It's great to know what is where in case you have some spare time, and that's the enjoyable part of researching. Even then, you will also have the unexpected surprises as you make your way along.

I think all the planning and research has really given me some history lessons on the USA.
Of all the things we 'pack' for a holiday, knowledge is not a burden to carry ! ;-)

    Have a great trip !

    Dave.

John, Looking forward to sharing your adventure with you. Maybe add a few destinations to my trip. Take care and stay safe.

Keith will be on the road soon, as well.

    Default Always Next Time

We cant wait to hit the road.I think the the East is where we were going to lose to much time.So now we have a plan to flt into New York for a shorter trip in a couple of years and explore that area more and another trip to cover Canada and Alaska.

After last trip I spent months editing video and havent even taken the time to watch them yet. I think this time will be spent with the still camera and a little bit of video.
Ill let my wife decide how much video she wants to take, then Ill load the editing program onto here computer.

It would be great to catch up with Keith on this trip but not sure if we will be in the same area though. I hope to post a bit of an itinerary brfore we leave and update as we go.

Still lots of packing to do. My camera gear and bits and pieces take up most of my allowed luggage weight so I will have to travel light as far as clothing go and buy along the way as the climate changes. I can just send them home in the post. Our Airline has reduced the luggage from 31kg to 20.

Default Can't wait for you to go "feet dry"

    John,

I'm really looking forward to seeing the results from your trip as well. Virtual road trips are the stuff that keep us more-or-less sane around here.

    Default A trip to Remember

Its no wonder I have USA on the brain. I spent 12 months planning the first trip and another 12 months editing photos and video and the next 12 months planning this trip.

Im sure by the time I finish editing this trip It will be time to start planning the next one. I think this explains why I dont get too much done at home between trips.

John, with which airline are you flying? I have 2 x 20kgs. It used to be 2 x 31kgs with Qantas, but that was reduced to the 'world standard' of 2 x 20kgs in 2008 (after I bought my ticket for 2009). With Virgin I have also always had 2 x 20kgs.

Virgin in 2011 were 1x 31kg each international. Now it is one bag 20kg plus carry on and laptop bag each. Thats flying sardine class.

Yup! That was the case in 2012, as well.

As a matter of interest, what did your fare cost. Mine, flying by 16th June, is $1100 return.

    Default Help. Need some guidence

    Hi,
Getting really close now and Im struggling with some changes to our plans. I need some advice on a section of our trip and just cant find the right route.
Its a fair length and will take some time.
From Lancaster PA we need to go to Rocky Hill Connecticit, then to Adirondack State Park then to Niagara Falls.

Hopefully I will be ahead of scedule by then and have a bit more time to explore. We dont want to go ito New York City. It looks like the main highways would be the quickest option.
Just not sure on a scenic route but not too slow and wheter to stay on the US side of Lake Ontario from Addiondack SP to Niagara or go the Canadian side.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    John
