  1. Default South Carolina Road Trip

My son is going to South Carolina (from California) for a football game in Sept. and I want to meet him for a road trip - we are thinking Charleston, Savannah, Atlanta, Nashville, Asheville, and Raleigh - we only have 6 days though so any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!

Default Could be a Relaxed Tour of a Lovely Area

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

To make a complete circuit of the cities you listed, you'd need about 3 days of relatively steady driving, but with 6 days you're looking at days that can be split between 4-5 hours of driving and 8-9 hours of sight-seeing and still leave plenty of time for a good night's sleep. Highlight's of the general route you'll be following include Stone Mountain, Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and of course the cities. The only ones I'm familiar with are Charleston where you should really try to take the ferry through the harbor and out to Fort Sumter as well as visit one of the plantations along the Ashley River, and Asheville where the Biltmore Estate tops the list.
