We are planning an RV (30ft fifth wheel) trip from Tx hill country to Durango and beyond (4wks), but are concerned about the mountain routes. We plan to go to Mesa Verde. Will probably stay at the National Park CGs as much as we can to save $$. We would like to go to Ouray, Montrose, & Silverton, (welcome travel recommendations of places not to miss in these areas) but are concerned some about the mountain roads. DH is experienced with driving trailer on mountain roads, but then again some roads just aren't made for trailer travel. We have been on a few that we just held our breath until we were off. Not much fun to hang on by your toenails. Prefer to avoid these types if possible.
Would appreciate advice and input for this trip. Also tips on where to stay along the way.
