I am doing a month long ski road trip in March starting from the Northeast and heading west to Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, and finally Alberta (and back). I've done similar trips in the past with a SUV and chains, though this year the SUV is out of commission and I will be using a smaller FWD hatchback. Currently the hatch has all season tires, which are terrible on snow/ice. I have an extra set of steel rims for which I intend on mounting snow tires, specifically for this trip. What I'm looking for is experience from people who've done a similar trip using snow tires exclusively, and whether the tires held up for the trip and any other issues that might have arisen from their use for a long road trip. Thanks much.
