    Default Arizona Warning

If you are planning on driving in Arizona in the near future, you should be aware that your maps will not be up-to-date in one important aspect. Most of the road side rest areas marked on it will not be useable! I suppose the state must cut back wherever it can in these hard times, but Arizona seems particularly large to expect everyone to just hold it as they drive through.

As long as the gas stations at the exits don't start installing pay toilets, this shouldn't be TOO bad.

And, since this list is from the official AZDOT site -- I guess we can assume that all are open now? As opposed to how it was in 2009, when AZBuck first made this thread?

Default Seem to be Open Again

The only on-line reference to these closures indicates that they should have ended this spring (2023). There is no mention on the ADOT website of any continuing closures of state rest areas except for the Sunset Point area on I-17 which is undergoing repairs and renovations.
