  1. Default Washington DC to Vegas

    Hi All,

I have some free time over Christmas this year and am thinking about driving from DC to Vegas for a NY party. Now am i nuts or is this possible if i leave on Boxing day?
I am English, so i don't know how difficult this might be.

    Cheers, Tom

Default With a Little Time to Spare

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

Washington to Las Vegas is 2,400 to 2,500 miles, depending on how exactly you go. That's about a five day drive, so you'll even have a half day to a day to spare. There are several ways to go, which also works in your favor since you'll be able to pick a route shortly before you set out based on the latest weather forecasts.

If you're set on driving, good luck. Holiday travel on the road is always busy that time of year. Also, you should have a certain route mapped out before you head off to Las Vegas, do not try to wing-it. Also, you will have to factor in weather. A blizzard, sleet, flooding, hail and several other weather related issues will slow you down.
