Enjoying the warm weather right now at 8:06 PM at the Munger Moss Motel in Lebanon, Missouri, watching the traffic go by on Route 66 after a great day on the Mother Road. We left this morning from Joplin with the Missouri Route 66 Association's Motor Tour, their 20th.
Saw two new attractions west of Springfield, one the Spencer Gas Station and the other called Gay Parita, another station. Had a nice time in Stafford where they were having a Route 66 festival.
The state of Missouri is to be commended for the job they have done on the rest area/welcome center om I-44 by Conway is something else. Not only is it dedicated to Route 66, but also each picnic table is housed in a structure that looks like it could be on the old road.
Always Good to Be Back on the Road. --RoadDog
