  1. Default Help Needed - December Roadtrip - San Fran to LA to Vegas!

Hi all - new here and desperately in need of some advice! I am planning a road trip in December (for the first time) and would like to drive from San Fran to LA and then to Vegas in 9 days. We were thinking about spending 2-3 days in each place and any advice would be very welcome! Many Thanks A x

    Default Time Constrained Drive

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

If you really want to spend 2-3 days in each of three cities that are each a days's drive apart, then there really isn't much time for the RoadTrip portion of this trip. For example, you won't have time to take the scenic Pacific Coast Highway (CA-1) between San Francisco and Los Angeles. You'll just have to take the I-5 freeway instead. Similarly, the drive from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, while it can be done in a half day, really wouldn't leave time to make a side trip to Death Valley. Nevertheless, you should have a look at some of the past discussions of this general area, and check out Megan Edwards' writings on Las Vegas.
