  1. Default TX to Chicago with Young Children, Suggestions?

We're heading out from El Paso, TX to Chicago, IL with an open mind and lack of sedatives for the kiddos. We're looking for suggestions on places to stop along the way to give the kids some fun breaks from the road. Any suggestions... PLEASE? Kids are 3 and 11 years old. Thanks for reading.

How many days do you have to make the trip? What type of attractions do you have an interest in?

    Default Making It Kid Friendly

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

Well, you'll need three days minimum for this 1500 mile trip (one way). The most efficient route is north on US-54 to Santa Rosa, NM and then follow I-40/I-44/I-55 through Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and St Louis. There are lots of nice stops along the way for the kids to take a break from the car, get some exercise, and generally just see some nice things. If you're looking for a major break, then I'd plan on stopping in St. Louis and seeing the Museum of Westward Expansion under the Arch and riding the to the top of the Arch.
