Honeymoon and 1st Real Road Trip - Any Ideas?
My fiance and I are looking to go on a roadtrip for our honeymoon, next spring. We live in Cincinnati and have no idea where to go. We regularly go up the east coast, have family in Florida we visit, and have been to Chicago a couple of times, so we'd like to avoid those areas. We will only have a week or two at the most, any ideas?

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!
In order to be workable as a romantic RoadTrip with possibly as little as a week from Cincinnati, your question boils down to what's worthwhile within, say, a thousand miles of Cincinnati. Such destinations could be reached in two leisurely days of driving with time for stops along the way, as well as significant time at your goal. Leaving out the middle Atlantic coast and Florida, there are still plenty of great destinations within reach including New England, French Canada, The Gulf Coast by way of the Mississippi, even the Colorado Rockies. So sit down with your fiancÚ, and discuss those possibilities and if you come up with one that appeals to both of you, then we can get down to specifics.
How about the Niagara Falls. Only a days drive from Cincinnati. Very much Romantic. Lots to do. Also can visit Niagara on Lake!
If interested in big city, then Toronto is only 1.5 hours away.
Not to mention, it would be cheaper to visit as American dollar is worth 20%+ more then Canadian.
I second that : Niagara Falls on the Canadian side is beautiful, with lovely parks. And as corny as they sound, the tunnel under the falls and the boat ride are really fun. Lots of tacky tourist stuff (for which I have a weakness) but nice places to eat and shop.
And add to that the magnificent IMAX movie, in a threatre on the Canadian side.
We actually did a roadtrip honeymoon from Long Island, NY to Niagara Falls and it was a great experience. First stop was a B&B in Watkins Glen in the Finger Lakes region (southernmost point of Seneca Lake.) If you like vineyards/wineries, there are quite a few on either side of the lake. We then spent time in the Thousand Islands area (bordering Canada), which was also beautiful. Went on a boat tour and to Boldt Castle there and spent a couple of days. NOT much nightlife there, but depends on what you're looking for. Then onto Niagara Falls, Canadian side. Was a memorable roadtrip!

Is flying out and renting a car an option?
If so a whole world of new opportunity's open up !
A couple of suggestions Sedonna Az spend a 3-4 days in Sedonna hiking the red rocks side trips to Jerome and Montezuma's castle, spend a day in the Grand Canyon. Drive up to Monument Valley stopping at the Petrified Forest and viewing the painted desert along the way
