San Fran to La, I got a week in Nov to plan, PLEASE help :)

HI All,

My husband and I are headed to CA in November...we will start in San Fran, or really anywhere you can fly into, spend maybe one night...then drive to LA. We can take up to 5-6 days to drive. I want to make the most of this NO kids trip, it may be once in a lifetime for us, since we are from GA. But of course we need to stick to a budget, keep costs down, so we are into maybe camping, or less than luxury stops along the way...maybe one nice stop somewhere, maybe wine country tours, maybe yurts??(whatever they r) who knows, I don't know where to begin...
