    Default CT.>San Fran>WA.

We're new to the site as of 10\31\08.
    We, (Mr.& Mrs.70+healthy and hearty)
would like to plan a Sept. or Oct. fly\drive from Hartford,CT.(BDL) to San Francisco or other "economical" airport, rent a car and drive north on the best scenic route to Washington state and fly home from there.
Two or three weeks would be ideal.
We've been fortunate to have traveled quite a bit,but never the west coast.
Your suggestions would be greatly appreciatd.
    Many thanks,
    Russ & Ann

    Default Me Too (or Neither)

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

My wife and I are planning a trip to the same area in the next year or so to fill in some terra incognita on our own travel map. I intend to rely heavily on Judy's sage advice and so recommend that you read through some of her past posts on the area.

Default And some more routing suggestions

One of the RTA contributing writers, Peter Thody, has posted a variety of trip tips on this section. Here are some of his observations:
    Redwoods to Seattle
    Oregon coast and outback

On your way up the coast -- be sure to drive through the Avenue of the Giants.
Another nice detour is the Newton B Drury Scenic Parkway just south of Crescent City, California

Larrison's trip from southern California to Jasper also contains legs that might be of interest to you as well.

    Happy Planning!
