  1. Default NJ to Florida - Stops on the Way

Looking for an interesting one day stop over on the way to Florida's Gulf Coast.
I was thinking Savanna might be nice. I would like to stay relatively close to 95 though.
    Any suggestions? Thanks

    Default Savannah

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

I'd say that Savannah neatly fits your bill for an interesting stopover not too far from I-95. Savannah is built around a series (7 I think) of parks/squares and is a lovely city to walk through with lots of gracious old homes and history. I just hope you're not planning on getting there in one day from New Jersey - that's over 700 miles!

    Hi there,
I'm new to this forum, but just wanted to say that Savannah is a great stop! When we did an East Coast roadtrip a few years back, from Vermont down to Florida, we ended up skipping Savannah because we were short on time. Two years ago, we actually ended up moving to Savannah for work reasons - and after exploring the city could not believe how much we missed out by skipping it on our roadtrip.

Definitely a must see - Savannah is beautiful, especially in the spring!! Be sure to check out River Street & downtown Savannah & City Market especially!
