  1. Default traveling from az to sc

I will be traveling from phoenix, az to greenwood, sc (borders georgia) sometime in late june/early july with one exception, I will have one companion, a 100 lb. lab with me. :) Can anyone make any recommendations as to what route I should take and hotels which are pet-friendly? I have driven the I-10 to and from, this time I am trying to make this trip as short as possible. Ideally, I would not like to drive more than 8-10 hours per day. Thanks! Any help is appreciated!!!

    Welcome to the RTA Forum!

The fastest and most direct route will be to simply take I-10 to Texas and then I-20 all the way to Georgia. Its about 2000 miles, so you'll be looking at 4 days on the road at a 8-10 hour day pace.

As far as pet friendly motels go, you might be best off getting a good guidebook on the subject.

Or check out this post for some futher information, with links, to a lot of other good pet-travel information.

I think you should allow at least one extra day, for five days total, when you're traveling with a big dog so the dog (and you, too!) can take a few good walks along the way.
