    Default Year long trip.

I'm glad I found this site and forums.

So just to make a long story short... me and a friend are planning to embark on a year long roadtrip. We're looking to find ourselves and to really just broaden our horizons and perspectives. Any tips on how to make this a successful trip? This will be our first trip as well.

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

You've got the time, and you've got a plan. If you've got the money - and we're talking several tens of thousands of dollars - then you get to live the dream. Obviously, you're not going to be able to plan this trip out in any great detail, but you and your friend should at least have a look at this 'quiz' to get you focused on what, among the myriad possibilities of a RoadTrip, appeal to you. There are any number of other planning tools, tips on estimating costs, reports on successful RoadTrips and the like. Poke around. If, after you've given this a bit more thought and have some more specific questions, we'll all still be here.
