  1. Default Advice on buying car for a group of 21 year olds

Hi everyone! Me and some friends are planning a road trip from New York to New Orleans or Houston and among many of the issues i'm looking at, buying a car seems to be a difficult one. As we're under 25 (we're 21) we have to pay extra which is fair enough, i was wondering if anyone has any advice on renting if your our age, which might be the best company to use, or if there is a rental company which is more geared to renting to younger people. any help would be great, thanks!

    Default coming from?

    Welcome to the RTA Forum!

For some reason we've had a ton of people asking this question lately, so just a brief look around the forum should provide some help.

The first question is where are you coming from? Are you starting in NY because you live in NY or do you live outside the US or Canada? The answer to your question changes greatly depending upon that answer.

Unless you are going to be on the road for several months, renting a car still ends up being cheaper, even though you'll have to pay a premium for your age. I don't think any one company is better than another in this regard, you'll simply have to shop around to find the best deal for your particular trip.
