  1. Default Miami to LA in 3 and 1/2 week

We are four guys visiting the US for the first time in a couple of weeks. We've rented a car and are driving from Miami to Los Angeles. The only thing we know this far is our time limit of 3 1/2 weeks and some cities we have planned to see.

We're driving down to Key West and are staying there a couple of days to get rid of the jet lag. Then we begin to drive westwards. We have decided to see New Orleans, Austin, Las Vegas and LA. That's pretty much what we have agreed upon on forehand. Any tips of where we should go, stay and see?

    Default Welcome to America!

Greetings Alanaes, and welcome to the RTA forums!

Any tips of where we should go, stay and see?
For starters, you could visit Miami. It is a nice beach city and has a lot to offer : architecture (take a walk in the art deco district), food (try Cuban food in Little Havana or a trendy café in South Beach), nightlife (Privé, Laundry Bar).

South east of Miami, you'll find the Everglades which has been designated as a World Heritage Site. This is a place to see rare and endangered species such as crocodiles, Florida panthers and west Indian manatees.

In Key West, you can visit Ernest Hemingway's House, have a piece of key lime pie at Blonde Girafe on Duval St. and take a picture at the buoy marking the southernmost point in the continental U.S.

For the rest of your itinerary, I invite you to take a look at this post which contains a lot of possible destinations and attractions along the southern route to the south west.

    Have fun!

  3. Default Places

We will be passing by hundreds of cities and places, where do you recommend to stop, except those standard tourist sites?
