DC to Meriden, CT
I am looking for the best way to go from the DC area to Meriden, CT without going over the GW Bridge. Any thoughts from people familiar with the area? Mapquest takes me over the Bridge from He__ and I do not want to go thru that again.

If you're going to head up I-95, then your best options for getting around New York are discussed in a number of posts starting here. If you want to avoid the entire east coast urban corridor, then you can head out of DC on I-270/I-70 west (!?!) to Hagerstown and take I-81 northeast instead of I-95. From Scranton, I-84 will take you in to the Meriden area. This option will add some miles, although since you are far less likely to encounter traffic delays, may not take that much more time.
